Clare makes colourful and contemporary jewellery using sterling silver, polymer and resin clay. Each individual bead is coloured, rolled and cut by hand – the shapes of the beads are kept simple to allow the colours to become the focal point of each design. Using a pallete of red, yellow and blue with black and white, Clare mixes the clay like paint to create a never ending range of colours. Resin clay gives a more subtle, chalk like finish to earrings, rings and pendants whilst the polymer clays allows Clare to experiment with more vibrant shades and create bold, statement necklaces.
Using traditional jewellery making techniques, Clare uses sterling silver to hand form the clasps, rings, pendants and earwires.
Based in Frome, Clare’s work can be found in galleries throughout the country and in Open Studio and Exhibition events in the South West. She also regularly takes part in The Frome Independent Market and Bristol’s Tobacco Factory.
