After 25 years as a salt glaze potter, Rowena decided she needed a change from firing her salt glaze pottery in a large outdoor kiln. She bought herself an electric kiln and decided to learn some new skills. Always up for a challenge, she turned to porcelain. She says this certainly proved a challenge as it is an unforgiving clay, but she has gradually got to grips with it and isnow enjoying its beauty and concentrating on how to use colour. Much of her current work is blue, and will be waiting in the gallery for when it re-opens!
