One of our jewellery makers Clare Lloyd uses polymer and resin clay to make her colourful beads. Using three basic colours of red, blue and yellow with black and white, Clare creates all of her colours. The clays are mixed together like paint to create a never ending range of gorgeous colours and each bead is rolled, cut and shaped by hand.
The unusually hot weather has had some unexpected effects on Clare’s bead making with the polymer clay proving quite difficult to use with the hot weather making the clay too soft to form into beads. The resin clay though has behaved itself very well and the usually quite temperamental material has become much easy to work with!
Clare can colour match to Pantone and most paint colour charts.
