One of our textiles artists has been busy experimenting with some new techniques to create some different hats and also some useful pots.
Lesley Hill works in various different mediums already but just recently, she has started to bond hand dyed silk crepe fabric to a complimentary colour merino fibre. Working out the shape of resist needed for the final outcome has been a work in progress but Lesley has now produced something that she is happy with. The resulting hats and pots were successfully debuted at a recent exhibition in Wells which means that we can expect a full colour range in the coming months. The felt pots are suitable for storing loose change or charger cables.
Here are a couple of photos of Lesley’s new hats and pots alongside some of her lovely little needle felted hares.
