The Snowdrop Festival returns to Shepton Mallet from 16th to 18th February with lots of events happening across the three day period.
A festival for the whole community, you will find something for everyone. Here are just a few of the events happening:
Friday 16th February – the festival will be officially opened by Micheal Eavis CBE at the Friday Market with music provided by The Drystones. There will also be a drop-in snowdrop Lino print workshop, face painting and snowdrop themed stalls at the market as well as snowdrop plants for sale.
Saturday 17th February 10am until 4pm in and around the Market Place where you’ll find The Wandering Street Poet and a Children’s Fancy Dress Parade with a ‘Secret Garden’ theme.
Sunday 18th February at 11am there is an illustrated talk at St Pauls School by garden writer and author Naomi Slade and at 1.30pm the is a Guided Snowdrop ramble in woodland near Pylle – booking essential for both events.
Don’t forget to pop in to One Craft Gallery as our makers have been busy creating some lovely snowdrop themed crafts from milliner Lizzie Oliva’s embroidered snowdrop hats to potter Rowena Kinsman’s handmade snowdrop filled pots.
