After pursuing a business career for many years, Jo followed her dream and returned to college. In 2002, she finished with a first class honours degree in Creative Arts (Fine Art and Textiles).
Jo’s work is inspired by light, colour, nature and world cultures. Jo starts with the aim of producing something beautiful. Although a piece may start with a specific design or idea, she works in an intuitive way, organically developing the work, as colour and texture are explored.
She loves making intricate textile pictures and 3D vessels using machine stitch, silk fibres and other fabrics on soluble film. Recently, she has been experimenting with abstraction using acrylics.
Jo’s work has been exhibited mostly in the South West and she has completed a number of private commissions. Her work will be in the gallery until the end of September.
